12/18/2023 0 Comments Billiards plus columbus ohio![]() ![]() Today, Elevator honors the rich history of the space by reflecting it through our comprehensive menu of fresh, seasonal food and our expansive, hand-crafted list of spirits, which includes not only beer brewed on-site but house made draft cocktails and sodas.Įlevator is located within blocks of several of downtown Columbus’ major attractions, including Nationwide Arena, The Palace Theater, The Ohio Theater, The Columbus Statehouse, COSI, and many more. ![]() Maintaining steady business even through prohibition, several myths and legends have been attributed to the building throughout its one hundred plus years of existence - including the presence of resident spirits - which have led many through our doors in the hopes of encountering the unexpected. The building is on the National Registry of Historic Landmarks and has been restored to much of its original grandeur, boasting original architectural elements that include not only the aforementioned back bar, but also the intricate mosaic tile flooring, stunning stained glass, and the lavish decorative ceiling. Brought here to Columbus by the Botts, it has served as the centerpiece to the building since its original opening. ![]() The luxurious bar itself actually predates the building, as it was constructed for entry in the 1893 Columbian Exposition at the Chicago World’s Fair and consequently took home the coveted blue ribbon for craftsmanship. Built in 1897 by the Bott family and originally opened as Bott Brothers’ Billiards, the gorgeous hand-carved Philippine mahogany bar was added to serve the whiskey that was being distilled on the second floor. The Elevator Brewery & Draught Haus is a craft bar, micro-brewery, and chef driven restaurant that has been located in one of the most historic buildings, the Columbia building, in downtown Columbus for the last twenty years. ![]()
